Sometimes it’s difficult to find a clear blue sky for a little bird, to fly, to jump, to swim in the air stream.

Doab is here to work with those little birds preparing for their first or second jump.
Together we aim to create more fresh bluish sky above the south Asian sky.

Supporting south Asian films. Across genres.

With love from Kolkata.

Short Screenwriting Lab

Doab Uncut Motion’s Short Screenwriting Lab is designed to assist new and emerging screenwriters and writer-directors to develop and write a screenplay from an original idea with the support of mentors. The screenplays written through this lab may be nominated for production through Doab Funding programmes.

The Short Screenwriting Lab provides a transformative and illuminating experience where filmmakers learn the principles of dramatic writing for short films (premise, theme, structure, character and story), examine and explore their creativity and individual voice, and gain an understanding of the international short film landscape. Candidates are encouraged to develop personal stories that come from the heart, and that reflect contemporary life in the Indian Subcontinent region; they should also be feasible for eventual production in the Indian state of West Bengal.
